Happy New Year from Unimed

Updated: Mar 23, 2023

Happy new year from the Unimed team! We’re celebrating a new year of procurement opportunities, potential partnerships and upcoming events. But most importantly, 2023 is a new year for taking greater steps towards equal access to healthcare essentials and medical products.

Unimed’s Triumphs During 2022

We’re proud to say that during 2022, we supplied medical commodities to over 44 countries. From small orders to bulk projects, we worked collaboratively with our trusted manufacturers and suppliers to ensure that we were able to provide exactly what was needed.

One of our greatest achievements took place last year - Unimed was awarded the most prestigious award in the UK. Shameet Thakkar, our Founder & Managing Director, took to Buckingham Palace on behalf of our team to receive the Queen’s Award for International Trade 2022. It was a true honour to be recognised for our contribution to humanitarian relief and our continued efforts to supply medical essentials to all countries via a variety of sustainable transport.

We want to take this opportunity to again pay our respects to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. We will always carry proudly with us the Queen’s Award for International Trade 2022, as well as our gratitude for the Queen’s dedication to the UK during her reign.

Our Procurement Plans for 2023

Last year, we were extremely fortunate to exhibit at AidEx 2022, the world’s leading humanitarian aid and disaster relief event. At Brussels Expo, the industry’s greatest leaders, organisations and representatives gathered for two days of workshops, panels, sessions and more. This was to communicate and connect over how we can contribute to humanitarian crises now and in future. We’d love to attend again during 2023 and evolve into a prominent member of worldwide medical procurement. Having supplied healthcare goods to over 44 countries in 2022, our goal is to outgrow this number in 2023 and become even more involved with Global Health.
